Is Huawei Mate 30 pro worth buying?

Huawei released their new phones Huawei mate 10 and Mate 10 Pro. Huawei Mate series is usually released in October, but that’s not the case for Mate 30. It doesn't matter when the phone is released so let's talk about when it can do. Now keep in mind I am talking about Mate 30 pro.

The first impression of the phone, it is an incredible phone. As you all know American President Trump has put Huawei on black list banning Us companies from working with Huawei. The Mate 30 is the Huawei first phone affected by this which means that the Mate 30 doesn’t have google apps or services.

Here are some cool new features about this phone. First up we got this design with a Halo ring camera module. Huawei says it is inspired by professional DSLR cameras.

Then we got 88-degree curving horizon display and weighing 188 grams it really doesn’t feel to big. There is no headphone jack which I am disappointed about. It can hold dual sim cards. 

There is one more thing missing. If you look on the sides there is only a power button. Now you might be wondering where is the volume button, well actually instead we have new virtual tech sensitive buttons. Double touch the edge and the volume rocket will pop up and then you can swipe up and down.

It is running android 10 and has 5G built in it. Huawei says the 5G in this one will be 50% faster then the note 10 plus. 

It’s also got slow motion video. Mate 30 pro can shoot 7580 fps. That’s is just ridiculous.

Mate 30 Pro has a ton of very cool features but there is a very big problem. When I say big, I mean it. 

 

There is no google play services, no YouTube, no Gmail, no maps, no play store. You can still download apks and side-load them but to be honest not many people are going to do that. Of course, things may change and who knows what Mr. Trump is going to do but right now I am not sure I if  anyone should buy this unless if they live in China or they are okay with the absence of google play services.
